It’s also fun to drive, even though the aerodynamic body work is a bit less demanding and it’s a car that’s less dirty and uncomfortable on the road.
The Prius isn’t the most advanced hybrid out there, but the model got it right from the start – thanks to the combined EPA figures. A smaller version of the Prius line — or plug-in car — to beat the economy. If you can live with the style, lack of drive and style, it’s still worth a look.
Toyotas may be at the top of the gas mileage list, but Fords are fast. The C-Max hybrid has better EPA gas mileage and a lower price tag than its closest competitor, the Prius V wagon. The car is also more comfortable to drive. Long-term doubts about its true economy can hold you back.

The difference in the real economy has not been as great as the EPA numbers indicate.
Compare the 2013 Insight to its 2000 debut, and it seems to have lost its mojo — it’s heavier, less efficient and less fun to drive. however, it works better with the cheapest hybrid vehicle on sale. It handles better than the Prius, though not as well – or as fuel-efficient. The 2012 redesign changed the look.
Another Toyota has made the list. The Camry Hybrid was updated, but the EPA official looks like an old hat on the Fusion Hybrid. It’s cheaper, so you get some air miles in the difference.

Most Fuel Efficient Hyundai Models
It is determined by how much money you can spend each year on fuel (gas and electricity), as estimated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
When calculating fuel costs, the EPA assumes 15,000 miles are driven each year. To determine how much money drivers will save over five years, the agency compared fuel costs to the average car, which will reach 27 miles per gallon by 2022.
And since this list is all about saving money, we didn’t include models that cost more than $50,000. (The average price for a new car today is $45,000.)
