Now that Mahindra has established its new EV company, the company will launch electric four-wheel drive vehicles to the global market. The Mahindra XUV400 EV is expected to be one of the brand’s upcoming electric vehicles in early 2023.
Mr. Rajesh Jegorkar, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive and Agricultural Division, said that he expects 20% to 30% of Mahindra’s SUVs to be electric by 2027. Though there is no official announcement about the price yet, it is expected to fall in the range of Rs 14 lakh – Rs 16 lakh. Previously, this electric SUV was called “Electric XUV300”, but the name was changed to XUV400 EV. That decision was taken by the company to make the electric version separate from the ICE XUV300 version.
Although there are no clear images of the Mahindra XUV400 EV, the company has recently shown some concept SUVs and the XUV400 EV is expected to look like them, especially the XUV.E9.

People are getting more and more interested in electric cars as the price of oil keeps rising. After the exhibition, many people seemed interested in this SUV. One enthusiast said, “I would describe it as a futuristic and tasteful design. Usually companies exaggerate design elements, making a car look clunky. But the Mahindra XUV400 EV is a great design. The white finish makes it stand out and futuristic blue. Stands out. Interior design tends to be black, white and blue. Space under hood is very practical. Seems to offer the best range. Can’t wait for launch.” Many describe the car as a great family car.
As mentioned earlier, the Mahindra XUV400 EV will come in two variants – regular and long-term versions. The lower version will compete with the current Nexon EV (actual range – 266 km), and the long-range version will compete with the MG ZS EV (range – 340 km) and electric Hyundai Kona (range – 450 km).
